TIIGER INC.'s TIIGER Pole Puller

Pole Pullers, Pole Jacks, Pole Butt Pullers - no matter what they are called - are important truck accessory tools for any linemen working in the electric utility or telecommunications industry.

Although it is quite common to find crews using their digger derrick booms or even buckets to pull utility poles, it is just a matter of time before the boom bends into a banana-like shape. Most tragic are cases where winch lines have snapped, catapulting the bucket operator to his death.

Such senseless equipment damage and personal injury need not occur if all utility trucks were equipped with pole pullers. But not all pullers are created equal.

TIIGER, INC. has developed the TIIGER pole puller - the "cadillac" of pullers - with safety features all crews will appreciate. Our utility equipment was designed by a lineman for linemen.

The three main components of the TIIGER Pole Puller are:

•The low-pressure hydraulic cylinder weighs only 57 lbs. yet safely delivers up to 50,120 lbs. of lift to pull poles from even the toughest soils,

•The swivel chain hook assembly attaches the single, lighter-weight chain closer to the ground for greater safety and maximum lift per stroke, and

•The sturdy base plate will not bend even under the tremendous force exerted by the cylinder.

Individually, these components are ingeniously designed, and when combined they become the safest and most efficient pole puller available.

Some important features of the TIIGER Pole Puller:

1. The safety factor is 3‡:1 on all our manufactured parts.

2. The cylinder is rated at 50,120 lbs. of lift at 2,800 psi input. To obtain the lift capacity when it is powered from a truck's hydraulic system, multiply the truck hydraulic system psi by 17.9.

3. The 57 lb. hydraulic cylinder is the lightest puller cylinder available.

4. Our regenerative cylinder design is able to produce 40% more lift over other cylinders of the same diameter.

5. Every hydraulic cylinder is physically tested to two times the rated input pressure. This means our cylinders are tested to 5,600 psi.

6. Internal reliefs prevent exploding or imploding if a cylinder fails to couple.

7. Our equipment will pull poles that are cut lower to the ground (14-16".)

8. The low point of chain attachment minimizes kick-out and eliminates the need for a second chain.

9. The sliding mechanism minimizes chain slippage by pre-tensioning the chain.

10. We use a lighter ‡" alloy chain and still avoid chain failure due to the unique swivel chain hook attachment and face plate design.

11. All three pins and the chain hook casting are made of the strongest commercial stainless metal available (160,000 psi yield point.)

12. The base plate is designed to withstand 50,120 lbs. of force without bending.

13. Our optional back plate accessory (below) makes anyone's pole puller more efficient.

Remember that it is possible to buy a less expensive pole puller, but you'll never find ours rusting in its truck storage compartment because crews refuse to use its heavy cylinder!

The TIIGER Pole Puller is the standard against which all others are measured, and has been specified by utilities and municipalities all around the world.

Don't waste your valuable budget dollars on heavy and unsafe utility equipment the linemen don't want, or on tools of inferior quality that will have to be replaced more often. Invest wisely in a tool that is built to last through years of daily abuse in the field - one that crews will really use.
